Pier 7 is THE place that provides a obstacle-free view towards the harbour front and the bridge. It is not as crowded as Ferry Building. I would recommend that instead of eating at Ferry Building, to-go and eat it here. If the weather permits, sit back relax and enjoy the view. It is quiet; an escape from the hustle and bustle of Ferry Building.

Pier 7 and the San Francisco Belle. San Francisco Pier 7 is a long, skinny pier, lined with benches, looking straight down at the Transamerica building. This pier is a very popular spot for fishing. Locals do some serious crab fishing here, mainly at night, and also catch sharks and perch.
The new Pier 7 is arguably the most beautiful pier in the city. It was designed to serve both fisherman and tourists and the architects nailed it! The design brings back images of a different Victorian Age.
This is a fishing pier which juts out into San Francisco Bay with no ships of any kind moored along its edge. As such, it makes for a great location to take photos of San Francisco, especially the Transamerica Pyramid which stares straight down the pier from a distance.
