Børsen (Danish for "the bourse" or "the stock exchange"), is a 17th-century commodity bourse and later stock exchange in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. The historic building is situated next to Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish Parliament, on the island of Slotsholmen.
Børsen is one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen. Alongside Rosenborg Castle and the Round Tower, it is also one of the buildings we remember King Christian IV for. He built Børsen because he was interested in promoting trade and turning Copenhagen into a trade center.
Børsen (The Stock Exchange) was built by Christian IV in 1619–1640 and is the oldest stock exchange in Denmark. It is particularly known for its Dragon Spire shaped as the tails of fourdragons twined together, reaching a height of 56 metres.
