14 cze 2011 · What does typically happens is if the "heat" and "pulse" of the spark have increased significantly, it will push the spark plug electrode out (and yes may even burn a fraction of the tip down as well).
11 maj 2018 · This is a comparison of a cold heat range plug (left) versus a much hotter heat range plug (right). Notice how the distance between the ceramic and the spark plug shell on the hotter plug requires heat to travel a farther distance, which maintains more heat in the spark plug.
30 gru 2011 · I have the Pertronix III coil and module in my distributor with no issues, but have a question on spark plug gap. What should the gap go to on my 289 plugs. I understand they can use an increase in the gap with the new system.
Picking a spark plug with too hot of a heat range can result in overheating, causing electrodes to wear quickly, leading to pre-ignition and a reduction in fuel economy. No matter what type of spark plug you are looking for, Champion® has a spark plug for your engine.
17 maj 2012 · Spark plug gap with PERTRONIX. I just installed a modified rotor that doesn't have the resistor in it. That seemed to stop the intermittent miss from the spark jumping inside the distributor cap. i figured that because the tach would bounce down when the miss occurred.
The spark plug heat range only indicates the rate that the spark plug dissipates its firing end heat to the engine. A hotter heat range spark plug has an insulator design with a longer heat flow path to the metal shell of the plug.
29 paź 2024 · Interpret the Heat Range: Higher numbers indicate colder spark plugs, while lower numbers indicate hotter spark plugs. 4. Consult the NGK Heat Range Chart: For precise interpretation, refer to NGK’s official heat range chart, which provides detailed information on specific spark plug codes.
