Penguin Book Writers. Has anyone worked with them before? They quoted me $1,600 CDN to edit, illustrate and help publish a children’s book. Rep claims they are affiliated with Penguin Books, which I’m pretty sure isn’t true (they have a similar logo). Feels like a scam to me but wanted to see if anyone has any feedback, be it positive or negative.
6 dni temu · The message claimed to offer “pre-approval” for a book submission to major publishers like Penguin Random House and HarperCollins. It included a project ID and book title and urged the recipient to call a phone number to “claim” a free submission.
We have become aware of instances in which scammers have used the Penguin Random House logo and/or names of PRH publishers, editors and even the CEO of our company to create fraudulent documents such as so-called “letters of interest” to perpetuate this type of scam.
There has been no response by Penguin to the BBB complaint. There has been no further communication from them and no, there has still not been a refund. Throughout this ordeal, I have been subjected to a barrage of excuses and delays, leaving me deeply dissatisfied with the level of professionalism and integrity demonstrated by Penguin Book ...
