IN 1966, BOUYED BY THE SUCCESS OF HIS THREEWHEELER PEEL MICROCARS, CYRIL CANNELL DESIGNED A 2 DOOR GRP MONOCOQUE TO REPLACE DAMAGED OR RUSTING MINI BODYSHELLS, HIS CAR BECAME KNOWN AS THE PEEL VIKING SPORT GT. MOST OF THESE CARS WERE SOLD AS KITS, BUT A FEW TURNKEY CARS WERE ALSO MADE. OF THE 30 PRODUCED, ONLY SEVEN ARE THOUGHT TO HAVE SURVIVED.
TO THAT LIST OF LEGENDARY DESIGNS, WE ARE ADDING THE PEEL VIKING SPORT GT. LARGELY FORGOTTEN BECAUSE OF THE TINY NUMBERS PRODUCED, CYRIL CANNELLS DESIGN IS TRULY PRETTY AND DESERVES ITS PLACE AMONGST FAMOUS 60'S VEHICLES.
