1 gru 2020 · The Extreme Demand Avoidance Questionnaire for Adults (EDA-QA) is a self-administered questionnaire that measures traits and behaviours related to Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) in adults (age 18+) with IQ in the normal range (IQ >= 80).
Please also see the May 2021 adaptation of the EDA-Q called the EDA-8. It is a refined and simplified scale that benefits from the lack of a cut-off score: Extreme Demand Avoidance in Children: Refinement of a Caregiver-Report Measure.
The goal of this document is to aid identification and assessment of the ‘constellation of traits’ commonly known as a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile; to distinguish PDA from other presentations of marked demand avoidance; and to signpost appropriate support and guidance for individuals and families.

The ‘Extreme Demand Avoidance Questionnaire’ (EDA-Q) was designed to quantify traits of extreme/‘pathological’ demand avoidance in children aged 5-17 for research purposes. The EDA-Q has now been superseded by a shorter version, the EDA-8 which contains only 8 of the original 26 items.
