Commissioner Precinct 1. The governing body of each of Texas' 254 counties is Commissioners Court. Each county has five members consisting of a county judge and four commissioners. The court role combines elements of judicial, legislative and executive functions.

The office maintains 1,423 miles of roads and nearly 4 miles of bridges, has eight community centers with more than 700,000 visitors annually, and supports 54 parks, with 13,455 acres of greenspace.
