22 lut 2024 · One of my favorite and best-sounding power amps is a Dynaco ST-70 with the Alan Kimmel / Welbourne Labs driver PCB kit, which features a mu-follower on the front end. Why does it sound so good? Is it because the mu follower gives an active load to the input tube, or because the amp has low global negative feedback?

9 wrz 2014 · For the tube amplifier circuit I used a cutoff pentode (6SJ7 or 6SD7) driving a beam power pentode (6L6 or 5881) in a single-ended circuit (class-A operation). The amplifier schematic is very similar to the one I used for my very first tube amplifier.
