Most games now are compatible with the advanced installation feature, meaning you can install them to a customer folder like c:/xboxgames. If you have not enabled this I would recommend you go to the xbox app settings and set a custom install folder.
Others had posted some videos on how to install mods for the game pass pc version of Payday 3. But I always prefer text based guides, so here's how: Part 1, Where to place .pak mods. Open the 'Xbox' app Right click on 'Payday 3', select '⚙️Manage', Under the 'FILES' tab, select 'BROWSE...'
Making this b/c I just spent 4 hours figuring out how to get the mod to work for gamepass. First download the Nexus version of the mod (I think this is the most recent version from discord) https://www.nexusmods.com/crusaderkings3/mods/45?tab=files&file_id=527.
So I have an issue with the above. I'm using PC game pass on my PC, the game is downloaded (not cloud gaming). Yesterday the game went fine. Today I start the game, and the Desktop Xbox app asks if I want to use the local or the cloud save. I selected the local one (since it was newer) and bang, all my saves are gone after 42 hours of gameplay.

Each main part is tailored for all three main platforms (Steam, Epic and importantly Xbox Game Pass PC). Why is this even important? The first version of the guide was for Xbox players (as it’s slightly more involved to setup and no one mentions it in their mod instructions).
