Parents is a 1989 American black comedy horror film directed by Bob Balaban and starring Randy Quaid, Mary Beth Hurt, Sandy Dennis and Bryan Madorsky. Set in a 1950s California suburb, the film centers on a 10-year old boy (Madorsky), who suspects that his parents (Quaid and Hurt) are not what they seem.
Some of the most terrifying scenes I've ever seen in any movie. The ending is incredible as well. Randy Quaid's performance will stick with you for a long time.

My favorite scene is when Randy Quaid is talking to his son about the dark. And he says “you know, there’s one dark place we need to be very careful in.” And proceeds to point at his head, giggling, with that crazy grin on his face.
