It has been cultivated since ancient times, and is now widely grown throughout the temperate world, both for its fruit and as an ornamental plant. 'Panache' crops reliably in cooler climates like the UK, given a warm sheltered spot (ideally south or West facing wall).
Panache Fig has attractive dark green foliage with light green veins on a tree with a round habit of growth. The lobed leaves are highly ornamental but do not develop any appreciable fall color. The fruits are showy yellow pomes with lime green stripes, which are carried in abundance from late summer to late fall.
