14 sie 2012 · Have a few Audi friends who tried to convince that a B5 1.8t it a good option. From my knowledge they are not reliable. Instead of taking their word I started doing some research on some Audi forums and wow, I thought we had it bad!
If you can't afford to modify a 1.8t, then I would seriously look into the 2.8. The B5 is seriously one of my favorite cars but I have a hard time recommending them to others unless I know they're serious about it. My 1.8 is for sale at the moment. Can PM me if you want details on it.

With my personal experience, if you are getting a B5 1.8T, it is best to go with the post-facelift (00-01) if you would like to tune and add more power. I have had two 1.8T AEB B5’s. At fifteen years old my first car was a B5 and ever since I sold it after eight months of ownership, it is the only car I wanted back the day after I sold it.
