18 cze 2018 · If the distance is sufficiently less than 50', within the length of available optical cables, use optical. If not, you'll have to use the RCA cables. If it sounds good, fine. If you get hum or RF rubbish, look for a better system.
6 paź 2021 · Honestly, while RCA still has its use cases and charms, coaxial and optical are a cut above in terms of actual tangible audio quality for your setup. The differences between these two, however, are negligible, and will often come down to things like price or product build.
30 paź 2023 · My CD player has both Optical and Coaxial outputs as well as the usual RCA analogue. I've found Coaxial to be superior to Optical. My receiver's CD inputs are Optical and HDMI (plus analogue). I'm not even bothering with DAC's as I feed the Coaxial output into the HDMI port and it sounds great.

25 mar 2023 · Aug 5, 2023. #3. Coax has the advantage of being more reliable for transmitting digital music data at sample rates above 96k. Optical has the advantage of not transmitting noise from the originating electronic device, because, well, it's an optical connection rather than an electrical one.
You could google around for detailed reviews but from my cursory look they're both quality DAC's and implementations. You might get noise on analog outputs from the sound card - you'll just have to try and see, or run digital out of the PC and you can pretty sure you won't have noise problems.
19 sie 2022 · #1. I've had multiple devices over the years with optical input/outputs... HiFi operates.. AVR etc... and I'm reading questions about optical for DACs and headphones. When optical was first offered I seem to remember it being the 'bee's knees' because of the fibre qualities and lack of loss. Is optical still the best choice or a fallback position?
