17 paź 2023 · On Friday, February 3, 2023, the town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc kicks off its official centennial celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 1st Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix 1924 and welcomes the Paris 2024 Flag Tour.

Die Olympischen Winterspiele 1924 (auch I. Olympische Winterspiele genannt) fanden vom 25. Januar bis 5. Februar 1924 in Chamonix (Frankreich) statt. Die Wettbewerbe von Chamonix waren ursprünglich als Internationale Wintersportwoche im Rahmen der Olympischen Spiele 1924 von Paris deklariert.

Chamonix 1924 was retrospectively acknowledged as the first Olympic Winter Games at the 24th IOC Session in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1926. The Games helped make winter sports more accessible; the two permanent venues used for the Games are still in use today.

The competition proved a great success, attracting 10,004 paying spectators in all, many of them travelling to the resort from across France as news of the event began to spread.
