The Okra Strut Festival, hosted by the Town of Irmo and managed by the Town Council and the Okra Strut Commission, will be held September 27-28, 2024. The festival is a two-day event at Moore Park featuring live bands on both Friday and Saturday evenings and a Saturday morning parade, which is the largest in the entire state of South Carolina.
Due to the ongoing State of Emergency in South Carolina and the significant damage caused by the Hurricane Helene, the Town of Irmo has decided to cancel the 2024 Lexington Medical Center Irmo Okra Strut, including the parade and all festivities at Moore Park.
The Strut parade takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025 on St. Andrews Road. The parade route is between Crossroads Intermediate School and Irmo Elementary School. Please plan to arrive early as St. Andrews Road will be shut down at 8:45 a.m. for parade traffic.
The Irmo Okra Strut Parade will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at CrossRoads Intermediate and proceed down Saint Andrews Road to Lake Murray Boulevard (ending near Irmo Elementary School).
Saturday after the parade starting around 10am the Okra Strut festivities will begin in the Irmo Community Park. There will dozens of vendors and exhibitors for you to stop by and participate. Many will have games or free samples as well as items for purchase.
25 wrz 2021 · Saturday’s festivities begin with the Okra Strut Parade (South Carolina’s largest parade!). Other activities include musical entertainment, carnival rides, an okra eating contest, arts & crafts vendors, children’s activities and festival food.
The family fun, live music, and all the goodness that is Okra begins: Friday September 23rd 2022, 6:00pm – 11:00pm and runs all day Saturday September 24th 2022, 9:00am – 10:00pm (Night Time Music Series starts roughly at 6pm both days.)
