The movie is both comedic and dark (but not dark humour). If I don't think about Mirando and the ALF and just focus on Mija, it's very straightforward. Mija loves her pig friend, her friend is taken, Mija goes through adventures to save her friend. Friend is saved. Bittersweet ending.
