21 paź 2019 · My last service I told them the car has been loosing oil. Oil light comes on about every 6 to 8 weeks. They came back and said the Cam Cover is leaking and it is starting to leak oil onto the coolant pump which will cause the coolant pump to fail. They quoted me $1,800 to fix it.
28 sty 2023 · I've seen a few others on the forum with a leaking oil separator unit. The good thing is it's covered by the 5 year/60K mile powertrain warranty if you're past the 3 year/36K mile warranty. Best bet is to have a dye test done to determine origin of leak. I can explain it to you.
27 gru 2021 · I'd like to identify the location of the leak so I can point it out to my mechanic and better understand what the problem is. I've attached a couple of pics to see if someone can help identify where the leak is coming from. You can see the steel is yellow-brown from the oil stains.
9 cze 2019 · My 2014 RAV4 just hit 40,000 miles yesterday, so I changed the oil today. While doing so I noticed that there was oil residue on the left side (looking from the front of the car) of the engine. It didn't spill down from the oil fill cap and obviously didn't come up from the oil filter area. I can't see an obvious source.
28 mar 2024 · I all to aware of what would need to be done to repair the problem as several months after the original purchase the TSB was released on the insufficient sealer used on the 2.0 LSY cam carrier. Camargo Cadillac here in Cincy did a FANTASTIC job and white gloved the entire process.
14 lut 2010 · Usually someone has to spill oil while filling, or leave the cap loose or dipstick not seated to get it to leak all the way around the cam cover. Most I see are dry around the front, but the back corner on the passenger's side is wet, running down the timing chain cover.
