14 lis 2019 · Our interactive map features offshore wind technical potential, classified by water depth and distance from shore, the latest offshore wind projects, and population density. See below for a description of the methodology used to produce this unique online resource.
115 of the world’s countries are deemed to have technically extractable offshore wind potential -- just over 71,000 GW. Only around 20,000 GW of that total is in shallower waters suited to fixed offshore wind turbines; the rest is suited to floating offshore wind.
An interactive map of over 1800+ Global Offshore Wind Farms showing key statistics, companies involved, the offshore wind resource, cabling infrastructure and vessel locations.
13 countries. Are you a member of WindEurope? Access a more in-depth version of this tool which includes projects planned and under permitting process, turbine supppliers and other wind farm characteristics for European projects!
Download the offshore wind technical resource maps of nearly 100 countries and geographies by clicking on the map above or the links below.
The multi-stakeholder Ocean Renewable Energy Action Coalition commissioned a series of maps which demonstrate the fixed and floating offshore wind potential within 200 km of the shoreline of countries and geographies around the world.
