In my experience, the AP exam is less about understanding of biology content and more about being able to analyze novel situations. In a typical AP Bio class, you aren't taught the material in the way you are tested on it, and I think this sets kids up for failure.
Our AP Bio teachers put together the cheat sheet below explaining these challenging concepts and pointing out the key mistakes students tend to make when studying and while taking the exam. We pulled these based on our experience teaching AP Bio but also using student performance data from each unit.
