To reset your game to default right click on Oblivion in Steam and select delete content, then find any remnant files in your steamapps common folder. Delete the Oblivion folder to be sure the mod and anything it altered is erased.
If you used Steam delete your data folder and tell it to check the integrity of local files. It will download all the files the game is missing.

A solution someone said worked was to disable OneDrive sync for oblivion and to make sure your saves are in the default save location, [C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves], and make sure the .ini reflects that.
When I checked the My Games/Oblivion/ Saves all the save files are there. I need help with this because I dont want to start a new game. I tried deleting my Oblivion profile from Vortex and readding it but its still not showing the save file in the game itself
Before you make any change, make a copy of your Oblivion.ini and your latest game save files. Changes in the Oblivion.ini can corrupt game saves or prevent the game from starting. In the event of an issue arising, simply replace the modified INI file with your backup and try using a backed up or earlier save file.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
