26 lut 2009 · If you look in the Oblivion/data folder and see a bunch of .dds files, .nif files, .mp3 files they are in the wrong place. You need to MOVE them to the proper folders. .dds to the textures folder
I seem to be missing so many meshes from my game. I've verified my game cache through steam to no avail. First it was at Sancre Tor there were multiple missing objects leaving floating stuff everywhere.
7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.
11 paź 2023 · Keep a spare copy of the .exe on your desktop and copy it back to the Oblivion folder whenever it goes missing. It doesn't fix the root cause of whatever is causing it to be deleted but it's an easy workaround and doesn't require a re-install just to generate a generic oblivion.exe.
When the game loads, it first checks the data folder for meshes and textures and loads them, if a file for a mesh or texture is not found in the data folder, then it's default file located within a .bsa is loaded instead.
5 gru 2022 · Try verifying your Oblivion installation (Oblivion library entry -> right click -> Properties -> Local Files, then select "Verify". When the verification and re-acquisition process of missing files is complete, please check the Oblivion\Data folder again. If your Oblivion\Data contains all these files, launch Oblivion.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
