2 sie 2014 · I've recently uninstalled and I want to reinstall the game outside of program files but steam does not allow me to place it in another folder or perhaps I am just missing the browse button. All that comes up is a location in my program files and my external hardrive.
You can absolutely move your install folder via steam. Right click the game from your steam library > Properties > Local Files > Move install folder. You can also set up your Steam Library Folders to be off of the C drive, which is absolutely recommended for anything related to modding right at the beginning.

Steam only installs to the directory that will be revealed. There will be a folder in Documents (mine are in Documents/My Games) with save data, and maybe some other stuff, but that isn't the install directory.
If you want Oblivion to be installed on a different drive or folder you have to install or move steam somewhere else. Or go into the settings and give it a new default folder to download games into
11 sty 2015 · Assuming you are using Steam purchased Oblivion, once installed, you'll find it in your Oblivion folder under Mopy. Open it and there is a tab in the top left corner that says "installers." Click on that and click in the area where you see a reddish/pinkish square.
5 sty 2011 · The 'Oblivion Install Directory' Means the folder that the Oblivion is installed in (Directory=Folder) - look for a file called Oblivion. exe (NOT the ESM or ESP) and put it in the same folder.
