10 lip 2022 · Just re-downloaded oblivion and every time I try and start the game it doesn't get to the launch menu. I tried going into the game files to start it but I can't get past the launcher.
If anyone ever comes back here, I solved this issue because I was (like most of you) REinstalling Oblivion after several years but my old config files and save games were still sitting under my user folder.
16 cze 2017 · I recently reinstalled Oblivion in my PC (Windows 10). The strange thing is, it doesn't launch the game. Clicking on ''PLAY'' in Steam nothing happens not even the launcher comes up.
9 wrz 2023 · Have you tried the basic standby for start-up crashes? Turn off the cloud and disable any mods, then, delete the three data files and the "saves" folder in the Oblivion Data folder. (blendsettings, Oblivion, Renderinfo). Launch the game and save then exit and turn the cloud back on.
11 kwi 2021 · Oblivion not starting is almost always a registry issue. When you have Oblivion uninstalled run something like CCleaner to wipe out the registry entries. Once that is done which will take a couple of minutes then you can reinstall and should have much better luck. The better option is to launch Oblivion through a mod launcher, I like to use ...
The launcher works fine but when I click play it loads for a second, the launcher disappears, and the game never opens. Steam overlay is off, nothing in launch options. I've gone to other posts and tried everything, still nothing.
If The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion fails to launch, go through any installed multimedia programs (DVD writing, Music players, A/V editing) and uninstall any programs that install their own codecs. Once you find the one that lets the game launch, you may then re-install the other programs once again.
