Unchecking the ESP only gives you this error, since the ESP is ONLY used to load the assets. The file is completely empty. The actual content like the door (which is actually the only part of it in Tamriel, so just ignore it) is patched into the Oblivion.esm and will always be there.
If so, the easiest fix for you is to register the associated .bsa files manually in the Oblivion.ini file. The file is called "Oblivion.ini" and is usually in "My Documents\My Games\Oblivion" as the default location.
26 lut 2009 · If you look in the Oblivion/data folder and see a bunch of .dds files, .nif files, .mp3 files they are in the wrong place. You need to MOVE them to the proper folders. .dds to the textures folder
7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.
When the game loads, it first checks the data folder for meshes and textures and loads them, if a file for a mesh or texture is not found in the data folder, then it's default file located within a .bsa is loaded instead.

Also if you find any: levitating trees or rocks, see-through or fall-through walls/objects or other stuff out of place, please let either of us know.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
