29 maj 2021 · As a result, I am unable to open or access the Oblivion folder (even as administrator). I would just change the permissions back on the file, but even that is unavailable to me. Has anyone else run into this?
7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.
The Data folder is the directory to which mods are installed. After installing Oblivion, you will find in here a few BSAs containing most of the game's resources (i.e., meshes, textures and sound files) as well as some of the default folders: Shaders, Music and Video.
When I got to install Wryebash using the installer from Nexus, it's not auto populating the correct Oblivion directory to link the game to Wryebash. I was reading some years old posts suggesting it has to do with the ProgramFiles(x86) causing the issue so I relocated the Oblivion folder from my Steam folder as so:
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
17 mar 2024 · Hello, I am running Windows 11 on a dell Inspiron 15 3520 laptop. I recently bought Oblivion and I cannot get it to create save files. I have tried everything I can to turn off the read-only attribute in the saves game file and it just keeps resetting to read-only.
The registry should not be used the get the value of LOCALAPPDATA. Users can open the folder by entering %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Oblivion into Start>Run. Note that this is typically a hidden folder. In Explorer, use Tools: Folder Options: View: Hidden Files and Folders to reveal hidden folders.
