Found this thread on steam. Sorry if I can't be of bigger help, I am not met with the situations in your Oblivion data folder and Oblivion's ini files. Once you try those, one of these solutions SHOULD fix your problem. If it does, then follow up what I said before with OBSE.
I've been running into these a lot lately. I found a solution for one game, but it seems to work for all of them. What you're going to need to do is... - First, pause the update. - Go to the folder where you have Steam installed. For me that's: This PC / Local Disk (C) / Program Files (x86) / Steam.
4 lut 2016 · What happens if you go into your Oblivion\Data folder manually and double-click on Oblivion.exe? IMO it sounds like a shortcut problem. If you didn't delete your existing desktop shortcuts (including Steam's shortcut(s) for Oblivion) before you reinstalled, try that also.
19 cze 2024 · Deleted oblivion.ini, and his video on clean installing, which means deleting the whole Oblivion folder where the exe and data are, the oblivion folder containing the saves under documents, and command+r “appdata” - local - oblivion as well.
25 lip 2021 · UPDATE: well, after some very helpful replies, trying all i was instructed to do, messing around in deep settings, verifying files and more; it twas all for nothing. The issue evolved into crashing no matter the wait, rest, fast travel, save or anything else.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
