For this I use Oblivion Mod Manager or OBMM. To install mods there, find the OBMM folder on your computer and find the folder labeled Mods (iirc) and then drop the archive in there. Then, when you go to your OBMM you will see the mod, labeled with a red mark to show its not installed.
17 wrz 2012 · You can simply move the contents of the archive ("meshes", "textures", esp files) from your extraction folder into your "Data", folder when there's no "Data" folder needlessly wrapped around them. OBMM can decipher those package structures and locates the actual files and folders inside such a bogus "Data" folder.

Back up your complete Oblivion install directory ( not just the Data folder, since there are folders like Oblivion/obmm that you need) as well as the My Documents/My Games/Oblivion folder which contains your savegames and the Oblivion.ini file.
26 kwi 2008 · When somebody refers to the 'Oblivion' Directory they are talking about the folder that has the game and most (but not all) of the subdirectories required to play Oblivion. It is usually located at C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion on an XP system.
Data directory is \Oblivion\Data. Main install directory (where Oblivion.exe is) is \Oblivion. Directory is just the 'proper' term for a folder.
