10 lip 2022 · Just re-downloaded oblivion and every time I try and start the game it doesn't get to the launch menu. I tried going into the game files to start it but I can't get past the launcher.
23 cze 2013 · I have recently bought Oblivion GOTY from steam but I couldn't find the data folder when i tried to install mods. There is no data folder in my program files or in my steam files. The game is installed and works perfectly.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
11 kwi 2021 · You first need to change settings in GOG Galaxy/Steam to turn off cloud sync, then delete all the files in "Documents > My games > Oblivion", then try to re launch the game. For me, GOG ended doing a complete reinstall to repair the files I had deleted, but this time it did not automatically sync my old save files.
The game is able to launch just fine after doing this, but the problem is now it can't find the Data folder: when I go into the launcher menu and click data files it gives me an error that says "unable to find any data files" and suggests reinstalling the game outright.
28 lip 2022 · If you still crash, rename your modded Oblivion folder and restore a backup of a Clean Vanilla Oblivion install and slowly rebuild it (the data folder in particular). If you can narrow it down to the folder in the case, you can generally find out where which mod package the culprit file came from.
6 kwi 2022 · Also, since you've already tried deleting the ini to refresh it, check for the Oblivion.esm file. It should be in the Data folder where Oblivion is installed. Ctds on opening screen are often caused by missing esm files.
