The Oakland County Court Explorer Application was developed to enhance access to public records for the Circuit & Probate Courts. The system allows for viewing of primary case party information, the register of actions, and ordering copies of documents filed on a case.
Use Court Explorer to search, view or purchase public court legal records of the 6th Judicial Circuit Court. Circuit Court cases may be searched by name or case number. Cases include Domestic (such as divorce, custody, parenting time), Civil (such as contract, business, appeals, general civil cases over $25,000), and Criminal felony case types.
To find a case number by name, click below to search cases through a Michigan Courts application. Once you have the number, enter it in the case search fields to continue the document search through Court Explorer.
Court Explorer - view Register of Actions and order Court Documents. Legal Name Changes - must be filed by mail or in person. Vital Records – birth, marriage and death certificates, marriage licenses, CPL, notary publics, assumed names/co-partnerships.
In Oakland County, criminal court records are managed by the Clerks office and can also be accessed at the https://courtexplorer.oakgov.com/OaklandCounty portal. From here, you can view circuit court cases (which include criminal cases) and probate cases.
To access court dockets in Oakland County, MI, you can use their Court Explorer at https://jsos.oakgov.com/OaklandCounty/. Input the attorney’s number or select the judge from the dropdown menu. Select the date of the docket you wish to see.
These records are available for public viewing by using the Oakland County Super Index, which has property records dating back to January 1, 1964, with the exception of subdivision plat maps. You can use this same index to use the inmate locator and view mugshots of defendants.
