Phishing—or “vishing”—scams impersonate SED employees or websites attempting to collect licensure and personal information from the licensee. If you receive an inquiry which you believe to be suspicious do not provide any information. To verify if the inquiry was from OP, contact OP directly using the following contact information.
Information includes the licensee's name, profession, license number, location, date of original license, and registration status. You may also search summaries of Regents actions on professional discipline, beginning with cases from January 1994, to see if the licensee has been the subject of disciplinary proceedings.

Find a Physician's License Number Using this Section. Type in the last name and then the first name separated by a space, not a comma. When you get the results, the highlighted number next to the name includes a two-digit prefix and then the license number. Do not use the two-digit prefix for search purposes.
