The events of chapter 11 took place in perhaps their second year of wandering in the wilderness.The chapter begins with a hint of a problem, “The people became like those who complain of adversity in the hearing of the Lord.” Adversity has tested the faith of many people.

15 lip 2018 · What happened? And what can leaders and all of God’s people learn from Moses’ bout with depression? A leader can get depressed if he lets complaining people get to him; he tries to do everything by himself; or he forgets God’s promises and power to accomplish His purposes.
Success can be defined as getting what you want. But happiness is wanting what you get. We often get the two confused. God’s people of old did, and so do we. The Israelites were certainly successful and got what they wanted — freedom from slavery and oppression in Egypt; the powerful promise of God’s guiding presence.
Biblical Commentary. Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-30. COMMENTARY: THE CONTEXT: Numbers 1 – 10:10 dealt with Israel’s preparations to proceed from Mount Sinai to the Promised Land. Those preparations involved taking a census (1:1-54; 3:14-39; 4:1-49) and receiving various laws (chapters 5-6).
