29 lis 2022 · Sinusoidal Projection. This map bowed out the equator in an attempt to replicate the topography of a sphere and avoid stretching out areas far from the equator. It succeeds in presenting a more accurate view of the poles, but at the cost of misshapen continents and bent meridians.

The azimuthal equidistant projection is an azimuthal map projection. It has the useful properties that all points on the map are at proportionally correct distances from the center point, and that all points on the map are at the correct azimuth (direction) from the center point.
