AEB-L is a real old timer razor steel that takes an absolutely fantastic hair popping edge super easily (bonus: Michael Walker's personal favorite steel). Just like S35VN, S30V forms hard carbides that give it an all-around good performance in terms of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance over Nitro V knife steel. Nitro V beats S30V in ease of sharpness and may even beat S30V in sharpness if sharpened to perfection.

21 paź 2021 · All depends on your use requirements for the knife. If you want stainless but also toughness, you’re probably not gonna want S30V or M390. Even though those are more expensive steels and might make you feel better about paying $200 for a knife, in the end they may not be the right steels for the job.
