19 paź 2010 · Most treatment processes involve coating the surface of AlN particles with long chain organic molecules, such as carboxylic acids, particularly stearic acid, or through use of cetyl alcohol, n-decanoic acid, dodecylamine acid and so on (Egashira et al., 1991; Egashira et al., 1994).
We found that H2O reacts with AlN to hydrolyze the surface through four primary steps: (1) water adsorption, (2) proton migration to form NH2* and NH3*, (3) N surface vacancy formation and immediate lling by O*, and (4) NH3* desorption. Throughout the text, “*” denotes a surface species.
The reaction process usually takes place at lower temperature. For AlN powder, the reaction process is found during oxidation in temperatures ranging from 550 to 1100 °C [8,10,14,16]. For bulk specimens, the reaction process is found in the temperature interval from 1000 to 1390 °C [7,9,11–13, 15].
1 cze 2022 · Nitriding of die steels in the aluminum extrusion industry is a well-accepted surface hardening method against surface wear and deformation. In this study, substrate material (DIN 1.2344 steel) is diffusion coated by salt bath nitriding method for 1 h, 2 h, and 3 h.
24 sty 2024 · Such laser-induced passivation of AlN resulted in the formation of a thin layer of Aluminum oxides (AlOx), which being stable, protected the water-exposed surface from hydrolysis as confirmed from experiments where dripping water droplets were released for long periods on modified substrates at elevated temperatures (Section S2, Supporting ...
2 cze 2017 · This paper presents an analysis of thermal oxidation kinetics for Aluminium nitride (AlN) epitaxy layers using three methods: dry, wet and mixed. The structures thus obtained were examined by means of scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry and secondary ions mass spectroscopy.
Aluminum nitride (AlN) is a promising material for electronic substrates and heat sinks. However, AlN powders react with water that adversely affects final part properties and necessitates processing in organic solvents, increasing the cost of AlN parts.
