difference is very clear in favour of the D40 - the image of the d40. is much cleaner, sharper, looks more natural, more DSLR-like, whereas. the D60 is noisier while showing a lot of of noise reduction (the. hair, the flowers!), looks artificial - just like a pocket cam.
