Definition. Hypertension in pregnancy: What is it? Last revised in May 2022. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) defines the different hypertensive disorders of pregnancy as [NICE, 2019b; NICE, 2019c]: Hypertension: diastolic blood pressure of 90–109 mmHg and/or systolic blood pressure of 140–159 mmHg.
