There are several publications where current rules pertaining to alpine ski racing may be found. Qualified alpine race officials do not have to memorize rules, but officials must know where to find rules, how to interpret and understand them, and how to apply the rules in a consistent manner.
The top 2 U16 athletes (for each gender) in the Macomber Cup Series scoring earn automatic selection to represent NHARA at the U16 Eastern Championship. Selection. NHARA uses the Regional Selection Board Method described in USSA Competition Guide to select athletes to represent NHARA at the USSA Eastern Region events.
A US Ski and Snowboard membership is REQUIRED FOR ALL ALPINE RACE PROGRAMS. Not required for Lil' Rippers, or Lil' Riders, Race Development, or Masters athletes. May be required for Freestyle Ski and Ride athletes depending on event calendar.
NHARA supports the Competition Regulations of USSA which provide a framework in which the various ski programs are developed and operated at all levels. The Eastern Alpine Competition Committee establishes the regional policies, procedures and operating rules for the Eastern Region. The region is charged with the design and conduct of all International Ski Federation (FIS) races and Junior Championship competitions in the East for each season.
