I own a 1991 SW20 proudly and I am not a fan of this as the new MR2. This is an old photo though and there are other, and better, concepts for what the possible return of the MR2 will look like. I hope they do it justice though because the platform deserves greatness. The 1st and 2nd gen were art.
91 MR2 Gen 5 3SGTE swap overheating. Don't know how much the thermostat is supposed to open, but it opened in boiling water and closed in cold water, don't think it's the issue.
Without linking the site that did Miata comparisons, look at the pictures in the link below. It looks pretty large next to Akio Toyoda kneeing. Looks pretty large for a small car compared to Prius too.

The report says Toyota is still considering two body styles for it. One “two-decked” option would look more like the first MR2 with a distinct trunk area.
