4 lip 2012 · Is there some trick to get the engine cover to release easily when pulling the handle up? I have cleaned, oiled, greased the latch, but the lid still won't pop up. You have to grab the ledge of the lid and pull it up to open.

Feed hood latch end back behind the headlight motor, then through the plastic grommet and into the radiator compartments. Push the plastic grommet back into the frame. Connect the ball end into the hook in the hood catch, then put cable in to slot. put cover back on hood latch. plug in alarm connector.
Replacement latch for engine cover / trunk lid / boot release. These get dirty and stuck over time and no longer release the lid. We also recommend you inspect the release lever bracket (next to driver’s seat) – it may be bent if you have been trying to release a stuck lid.
