The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single-seat subsonic carrier-capable light attack aircraft designed and produced by the American aerospace manufacturer Douglas Aircraft Company, and later, McDonnell Douglas. It was originally designated A4D under the United States Navy's pre-1962 designation system.

9 lis 2016 · In 1966, construction was begun on eight new single-seat and two two-seat Skyhawks, for use by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Patterned after the A-4F and TA-4F, the RAN Skyhawks were designated A-4G and TA-4G and were optimized for an air defense role (Sidewinder air-to-air missile capability).
