Maumee State Forest is located 15 miles southwest of Toledo in northwestern Ohio and covers more than 3,350 acres. The flat topography and natural features are a result of the Wisconsin glacier passing through this area about 18,000 years ago.
Location Map Welcome to Mohican-Memorial State Forest Acquisition of the first state forests began in 1916, originally to be used as testing grounds for reforestation of tree species. Land acquisition later broadened to include land of scenic and recreational value and to restore forest cover to land that had been abandoned and abused.
