If your nose continues to bleed briskly for more than 20 minutes or if you are worried about the severity of the bleeding, contact your GP, ENT Department or Dorrell Ward for advice (see numbers below). If you continue to have small amounts of blood from your nose for more than 4 weeks, contact your GP for advice.
Use a clock. Do not check to see if the bleeding has stopped before the 15 minutes are up. If the bleeding has not stopped, pinch your nose shut for another 10 to 15 minutes. Apply antibacterial ointment or saline nasal spray to the inside of your nose several times a day after your procedure.

19 lis 2023 · Nasal packs should be left in-situ for 24 hours to ensure the bleeding vessel is well coagulated. After 24 hours, the balloon can be deflated and pack removed, with nasal cavity inspected again to see if there is any cauterisation necessary.
