Fretboard Chart 5 String Bass. The chart doesn’t or end at any precise frets on a real fretboard. You decide what chord you want to look for and then start by finding its Root, ®. For example, to find an Am7b5 chord, First find the Root ‘A’ on the 6th, 5th or 4th string, then look for b3, b5 and b7 on the higher strings.

First off, here is a chart of every single note on a 5-string bass in standard tuning. This tuning is called B standard. It is the go-to tuning for 5-string basses and most 5-string bass tabs are written in this tuning. Notice that the 12th fret is always the same note as the open string.
