The chart doesn’t or end at any precise frets on a real fretboard. You decide what chord you want to look for and then start by finding its Root, ®. First find the Root ‘A’ on the 6th, 5th or 4th string, then look for b3, b5 and b7 on the higher strings.
Bass tab shows the strings of the bass drawn horizontally. Most often bass tab is written for 4-string bass, but you may see it for 5-string and 6-string basses, too.
3 paź 2023 · A 4-string bass in standard tuning has four strings—E, A, D, and G. The fretboard is laid out no different than a piano. All natural notes are a whole-step apart, except for the notes E and F (half-step apart), and B and C (half-step apart).
First, we`ll take a look at the name of the bass strings on 4, 5, and 6-string basses. Then I`ll show you an easy trick for easily remembering each of them. Lastly, I`ll show you some situations where the names of the bass strings change.
First off, here is a chart of every single note on a 5-string bass in standard tuning. This tuning is called B standard. It is the go-to tuning for 5-string basses and most 5-string bass tabs are written in this tuning. Notice that the 12th fret is always the same note as the open string.
