13 cze 2015 · You need to place mysql in your environment variable PATH in order to run it from the command prompt, if you are not in bin directory of mysql. On windows 7 (should be similar for 8): go to control panel> system. on left hand side you should see Advanced system settings>double click on that.
Close and restart your Command prompt. After that write from anywhere in cmd: mysql --version. It will give results: mysql Ver 8.0.28 for Win64 on x86_64 (MySQL Community Server - GPL)
