  2. This section will discuss the pattern that Mute Swans follow in laying their eggs, why they follow that pattern and what they do during the time between laying the eggs and the baby swans (called, cygnets) hatching.

  3. The egg-laying season for Mute Swans generally falls in spring, starting in late March or early April and lasting into June. They produce an egg every second day and begin incubating them only after the entire clutch is ready, allowing the cygnets to hatch together.
