24 kwi 2014 · They work by kinda putting a second transmission behind your first one. The second tranny is run by an electric solenoid that pushes it into gear when you want to up-shift. You get up to 50 or so with your normal tranny, hit a button, and it shifts into "fourth" gear and you can continue on.
4 maj 2014 · Squirrel is right, it is an assembly and they didn't service any pieces. I used to pull the bronze rings out from abusing the transmission (that's another story). I modified a pair of snap-ring pliers to let me pull the syncro blocks out and then tap the bronze rings back in and restake them. Then re-install the blocks. Almost like a new syncro.
31 gru 2011 · IF you have a Muncie 318 3 speed, or the Muncie 319 3 speed with overdrive, those transmissions are the same length. Like squirrel said, roughly 27 inches including the bellhousing (same as a short shaft TH350).
3 cze 2016 · He can advice you re the Muncie transmission. The Borg Warner and Muncie four speeds are stronger, a lot stronger then the Saginaw and the better choice if you are making big power and abusing the rear with hole shots, big tires, slicks.

Transmissions should be identified by the transmission manufacturer’s tag located in various positions, depending on the manufacturer and the specific transmission. If unable to make positive identification, consult the nearest Muncie Power Products warehouse. Once transmission is correctly identified, PTO selection is relatively simple.
29 mar 2015 · It looks to me like you would only need to take the shift arms off of your current transmission and put them on the newer one. Most of the later model cars that came with a three speed had the shifter on the floor, and the arms are different.
