This critical, highly anticipated new addition to Metro’s network will add seven new stations and a reliable, high-speed connection between downtown and the Westside.

Metro’s plan includes better transit to connect more people to more places with Section 1 of the Purple (D Line) extension. This project extends the Purple (D Line) from Koreatown through Miracle Mile, adding three new stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega.
18 kwi 2024 · Tunneling the D Line Subway Extension Project in Los Angeles, is complete. The LA Metro celebrated the milestone last week at the future Wilshire/Fairfax subway station on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile. The 9-mile cost approximately $9.5 billion expansion.

Under construction since 2019, the $9.5-billion project is split into three phases, and serves neighborhoods including the Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills, Century City, and Westwood.
