8 wrz 2011 · I have one unenclosed stairway in U-shape. I have a storage area under one run of stairs and under the stair mid-level landing. the next run passed over two adjacent small offices. I have the storage area with 1-hour rated walls with fire rated doors.
1 Hr Fire Rated Stairway Detail. We are building 2-1 hr rated stairways for a commercial project in Raleigh NC (UL 419). The issue we are having is there is not enough space between the stair stringer and metal studs for the 5/8" drywall to pass through for a continuous fire rated assembly.
