30 sty 2018 · The authoring program I'm using, DVDStyler, offers two options about the encoding of the final audio: MP2 or AC3. My DVD players have the capability to correctly reproduce the MP4 files with AAC audio (just for information).
10 mar 2014 · According to the spec, yes - you can use PCM. However the de-facto standard for DVD is either AC3 or MP2. Mentioning PCM in this context is 'technically' correct, but probably misleading due to data-rate reasons. Yes PCM eats up a lot more bandwidth than AAC, but AAC is not part of the DVD standard at all.

6 sie 2012 · HDV uses an audio format called MPEG1-Layer2 (MP2). Similar to the better known MP3 format, MP2 uses acoustic modeling to remove audio that is likely to be imperceptible. Just like with MP3 files, the quality of MP2 audio is largely based on the bitrate it is encoded at.

12 mar 2008 · ac3 is the best choice, 384 kbps stereo will almost certainly suffice, but you need a Dolby licensed encoder. If this isn't an option, then mp2, subject to compatibility, is the better choice.
